Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd are a British rock band that earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and, as they evolved, for their avant-garde progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. One of rock music's most successful and influential acts, the group has sold over 250 million albums worldwide, and an estimated 73.5 million albums in the United States alone

Pink Floyd had moderate success in the late 1960s as a psychedelic band led by the late Syd Barrett; however, Barrett's erratic behaviour forced his colleagues to eventually replace him with guitarist and singer David Gilmour. After Barrett's departure, singer and bass player Roger Waters gradually became the band's leader and main songwriter. Under Waters' leadership, the band recorded several albums, achieving worldwide success with The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979). In 1985, Waters declared Pink Floyd defunct, but the remaining members, led by Gilmour, continued recording and touring under the name, enjoying commercial success and eventually reaching a settlement with Waters over the use of the name.

Alan Jackson's biography

As the first artist signed to Arista Records' country division, Alan Jackson's first single, "Blue Blooded Woman," peaked at a dismal No. 45 on the country charts in 1989. Clearly, things improved substantially with the next single -- the title track from his debut album, Here in the Real World -- and the hits haven't stopped yet. Fifteen years into his career, the superstar has sold more than 40 million albums and scored more than 30 No. 1 singles -- 21 of which he either wrote or co-wrote.

Jackson was born Oct. 17, 1958, in Newnan, Ga., to a blue-collar family. Jackson's father was an automobile mechanic. Caring for a household of seven, his mother helped instill a sense of integrity and small town values. While in high school, Jackson met his future wife, Denise, at a Dairy Queen, and their lasting marriage has produced three daughters.

Playing in country bands in Georgia, Jackson worked as a mechanic, used car salesman and forklift operator to pay the bills while writing songs. He and Denise moved to Nashville in 1985, but his first impressions of Music City were a tiny basement apartment and a genre whose radio prerequisites had almost nothing to do with his own songwriting. That same year, Denise met Glen Campbell in an airport when she was working as a flight attendant. She told Campbell about her husband and gave him a tape. Campbell gave her his business card and suggested that Alan should call his publishing company.

Soon after, Jackson became a staff songwriter at Campbell's music publishing company.Already one of country's most respected songwriters, Jackson ascended to yet a higher level at the 2001 CMA Awards show when he debuted "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)." His song about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City stunned the awards show audience and ultimately proved to be the most honest, heartfelt song written about the tragedy.

Hercules: The World's Biggest Dog Ever According to Guinness World Records Hercules was recently awarded the honorable distinction of Worlds Biggest Dog by Guinness World Records. Hercules is an English Mastiff and has a 38 inch neck and Weighs 282 pounds. With "paws the size of softballs" (reports the Boston Herald), the three-year-old monster is far larger and heavier than his breed's standard 200lb. limit. Hercules owner Mr. Flynn says that Hercules weight is natural and not induced by a bizarre diet: "I fed him normal food and he just grew".... and grew. and grew. and grew.

JHUM BARABAR JHUM

Abhishek Bachchan as Rikki Thukral

Baadshah of Bhatinda, now Sultan of Southall... Rikki Thukral! Confront him and he pulls out his most lethal weapon... "I got class"... Can't mess with Rikki after that. Classy he is, in his own earthy way... Just watch him engineer a deal... selling pirated films, illegal antiques, rented property, second hand fridges... if need be even the Queen's crown... Rikki makes it look like a cakewalk with his canny cheekiness and charm. Rikki came to Southall with a dream... of acquiring windfall riches. He would do all it takes... The moment he met Huffy Bhai it was like love at first sight. It didn't matter that Huffy Bhai was from Karachi or that he would lift his kurta at the most inappropriate moment... they got on like a house on fire. Him and Huffy live life with the attitude and spunk that shouts out, "We're here now... and now that we're here, Southall is ours!" They stay themselves everywhere... and wherever they go, they set up an independent republic! Together, both of them can arrange anything under the sun... from the best seats at the Cricket World Cup to a fridge at the cheapest price... after all, it's not fashionable for a modern day entrepreneur to have all fingers in one pie. They haven't got a permanent mailing address... and even if they did, nothing would ever get sent there... Always on the move, Rikki's clients' needs are such that he can't contain his business in an office... so the whole of Southall is his oyster. Rikki doesn't consider himself a crook, but rather a maverick who just makes the calls... talks the talk... brings people together... walks the walk... makes his commission and stays happy. Like everything in Rikki's life, even falling in love was 70mm cinemascope. Only Rikki could have fallen in love with his dream girl Anaida when the legendary love-birds Princess Diana and Dodi were leaving The Ritz for the last time.... And then like sparkling magic, as Rikki says, "when two lovers die, another two are born"... they dance... they sing... they're in love!

Lara Dutta as Anaida Raza

Anaida Raza is the sizzling nymph with a soft core. Brought up in the City of Love as a pragmatic, rooted and razor-sharp woman... Assistant Manager at The Ritz Hotel in Paris... she runs her beat with metronomic efficiency and keeps everybody including her staff happy. She's dealt with all types and can be as friendly as she can be foxy. She'll manage a huge hotel and make it look like a breeze... despite thousands of photographers jumping all over the place... but also find the time to pick up Rikki's handkerchief from the floor and return it to him... How was she to know the hanky would turn out bait... and she'd be hooked, in love with Rikki in the flicker of a moment. Like so many around the world... she gave her heart to Princess Diana. So much so, that despite her otherwise no-nonsense exterior, she cried when she couldn't visit Diana's funeral. She has that alluring combination of passion and charisma that would make any guy go ga-ga... And Rikki is no exception.

Kenny Rogers{The Gambler}

On a warm summers evenin on a train bound for nowhere,I met up with the gambler; we were both too tired to sleep. So we took turns a starin out the window at the darknesstil boredom overtook us, and he began to speak. He said, son, Ive made a life out of readin peoples faces,And knowin what their cards were by the way they held their eyes.So if you dont mind my sayin, I can see youre out of aces. For a taste of your whiskey Ill give you some advice. So I handed him my bottle and he drank down my last swallow. Then he bummed a cigarette and asked me for a light. And the night got deathly quiet, and his face lost all expression.Said, if youre gonna play the game, boy, ya gotta learn to play it right. You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em,Know when to walk away and know when to run.You never count your money when youre sittin at the table.Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done. Now evry gambler knows that the secret to survivinIs knowin what to throw away and knowing what to keep.cause evry hands a winner and evry hands a loser,And the best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep. So when hed finished speakin, he turned back towards the window,Crushed out his cigarette and faded off to sleep. And somewhere in the darkness the gambler, he broke even. But in his final words I found an ace that I could keep. You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em,Know when to walk away and know when to run.You never count your money when youre sittin at the table.Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done. You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em,Know when to walk away and know when to run.You never count you r money when youre sittin at the table.Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done

Abdul Kalam Quotes
Educationists should build the capacities of the spirit of inquiry, creativity, entrepreneurial and moral leadership among students and become their role model.

Thinking is progress. Non-thinking is stagnation of the individual, organization and the country. Thinking leads to action. Knowledge without action is useless and irrelevant. Knowledge with action, converts adversity into prosperity.

English is necessary as at present original works of science are in English. I believe that in two decades times original works of science will start coming out in our languages. Then we can move over like the Japanese.

Humanity will require mega-missions for harnessing solar energy, drinking water from seawater through the desalination process and bringing minerals from other planets. In such a situation, the present reasons for conflict will become insignificant and unwarranted.

I have this big library at home and my favorite poets are Milton, Walt Whitman and Rabindranath Tagore. I write poetry too.

God has not promised Skies always blue, Flower-strewn pathways All our life through; God has not promised Sun without rain, Joy without sorrow, Peace without pain

If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher.

If we are not free, no one will respect us.
In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.
It means, people who are in high and responsible positions, if they go against righteousness, righteousness itself will get transformed into a destroyer.

Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow.

When you speak, speak the truth; perform when you promise; discharge your trust. Withhold your hands from striking, and from taking that which is unlawful and bad

Look at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work.

My view is that at a younger age your optimism is more and you have more imagination etc. You have less bias.

No religion has mandated killing others as a requirement for its sustenance or promotion.
Tell me, why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognise our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?

Unless India stands up to the world, no one will respect us. In this world, fear has no place. Only strength respects strength.

We have not invaded anyone. We have not conquered anyone. We have not grabbed their land, their culture, their history and tried to enforce our way of life on them.
We must think and act like a nation of a billion people and not like that of a million people. Dream, dream, dream!

We will be remembered only if we give to our younger generation a prosperous and safe India, resulting out of economic prosperity coupled with civilizational heritage.

Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? Is it a legacy of our colonial years? We want foreign television sets. We want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported?

Thinking should become your capital asset, no matter whatever ups and downs you come across in your life.

Read Each One Carefully and Think About It a Second or Two

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

True friends: How many people actually have 8 true friends?

Hardly anyone I know ! But some of us have all right friends and good friends!!!

Relativity.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.

It is strange to be known so universally and yet to be so lonely.
Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen.

A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?

Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.

When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour.

That's relativity.

100 Run commands

101 useful Run Commands

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guys do you use the Run feature in Windows XP? For most, this feature remains unused (or rarely used). Why is that? Well, First off nearly all of the Run Commands Correspond to a particular Control Panel Item or a Utility, Tool or Task that can be accessed through Windows. There are, however, tools and utilities that I bet you never knew you had that can be accessed through the Run feature. The main reason most people don't use the Run feature is because they don't know the Commands. So, to solve that problem, I decided to put together the following listing, which lists 101 Run Commands and what they correspond too...

"The Ten Most Dangerous Mistakes YOU Probably Make With Women And What To Do About It..."

Here Are The Top Ten Reasons Why Men Fail With Women” and How To Make Sure YOU Avoid Every One Of These Deadly Common Mistakes...

MISTAKE #1: Being Too Much Of A "Nice Guy"

Have you ever noticed that the really attractive women never seem to be attracted "nice" guys?
Of course you have.
Just like me, I'm sure you've had attractive female friends that always seemed to date "jerks"... but for some reason they were never romantically interested in YOU.
What's going on here?
It's actually very simple...
Women don't base their choices of men on how "nice" a guy is. They choose the men they do because they feel a powerful GUT LEVEL ATTRACTION for them.
And guess what?
Being nice doesn't make a woman FEEL that powerful ATTRACTION.
And being NICE doesn't make a woman CHOOSE you.
I realize that this doesn't make a lot of logical sense, and it's hard to ACCEPT... but GET OVER IT.
Until you accept this FACT and begin to act on it, you'll NEVER have the success with women that you want.

MISTAKE #2: Trying To "Convince Her To Like You"

What do most guys do when they meet a woman that they REALLY like... but she's just not interested?
Right! They try to "convince" the woman to feel differently.
Well, I have news for you... YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE HOW A WOMAN "FEELS" WHEN IT COMES TO ATTRACTION!
Never, ever, EVER.
You cannot CONVINCE a woman to feel differently about you with "logic and reasoning".
Think about it.
If a woman doesn't "feel it" for you, how in the world do you expect to change that FEELING by being "reasonable" with her?
But we all do it.
When a woman just isn't interested, we beg, plead, chase, and do our best to change her mind.
Bad idea. One that will never work.

MISTAKE #3: Looking To Her For Approval Or Permission

In our desire to please women (which we mistakenly think will make them like us), us guys are always doing things to get a woman's "approval" or "permission".
Another HORRIBLE idea.
Women are NEVER attracted to the types of men who kiss up to them... EVER.
Don't get me wrong here.
You don't have to treat women BADLY for them to like you.
But if you think that treating a woman well means "always getting her approval and permission for things", think again.
You will never succeed by looking for approval. Women actually get ANNOYED at men who seek their approval.
Doubt me? Just ask any attractive woman if busy guys who chase her around and want her approval annoy her..
.
MISTAKE #4: Trying To "Buy" Her Affection With Food And Gifts

How many times have you taken a woman out to a nice dinner, bought her gifts and flowers, and had her REJECT you for someone who didn't treat her even HALF as well as you did?
If you're like me, then you've had it happen a LOT.
Well guess what?
It's only NATURAL when this happens...
That's right, I said NATURAL.
When you do these things, you send a clear message:
"I don't think you'll like me for who I am, so I'm going to try to buy your attention and affection".
Your good intentions usually come across to women as over-compensation for insecurity, and weak attempts at manipulation. That's right, I said that women see this as MANIPULATION.

MISTAKE #5: Sharing "How You Feel" Too Early In The Relationship With Her

Another huge and unfortunate mistake that most men make with women is sharing how they "feel" too early on.
Attractive women are rare.
And they get a LOT of attention from men.
Most men don't realize this, but attractive women are being approached in one-way or another ALL THE TIME.
An attractive woman is often approached several times a DAY by men who are interested. This translates into dozens of times per week, and often HUNDREDS of times per month.
And guess what?
Attractive women have usually dated a LOT of men.
That's right. They have EXPERIENCE.
They know what to expect.
And one thing that turns an attractive women off and sends her running away faster than just about anything is a guy who starts saying "You know, I really, REALLY like you" after one or two dates.
This signals to the woman that you're just like all the other guys who fall for her too fast... and can't control themselves.
Don't do it. Lean back. Relax.
There's a much better way...

MISTAKE #6: Not "Getting" How Attraction Works For Women

Women are VERY different from men when it comes to ATTRACTION.
You need to accept this fact, and deal with it.
When a man sees a beautiful, young, sexy woman, he INSTANTLY feels a sexual attraction.
But does the same apply for women?
Do women feel sexual attraction to men based mostly on looks? Or is something else going on?
Well, after studying this topic for over five full years now, I can tell you that woman usually have their "attraction mechanisms" triggered by things OTHER than looks.
Have you ever noticed that you see a lot more average and unattractive men with beautiful women than the other way around?
Think about it.
Women are more attracted to certain qualities in men... and they're attracted to the way a man makes them FEEL than they are to looks alone.
If you know how to use your body language and communication correctly, you can make women feel the same kind of powerful sexual attraction to you that YOU feel when you see a hot, sexy young woman.
But it's not an accident. You have to LEARN how to do this.
And ANY guy can learn how...

MISTAKE #7: Thinking That It Takes Money And Looks

One of the most common mistakes that guys make is giving up before they've even gotten started... because they think that attractive women are only interested in men who have looks and money... or guys who are a certain height... or guys who are a certain age.
And sure, there are some women who are only interested in these things.
But MOST women are far more interested in a man's personality than his wallet or his looks.
There are personality traits that attract women like a magnet...
And if you learn what they are and how to use them, YOU can be one of these guys.
YOU DO NOT have to "settle" for a woman just because you aren't rich, tall, or handsome.
Let me say this again: If you know how to use your body language and communication correctly, you can make women feel the same kind of powerful sexual attraction to you that YOU feel when you see a hot, sexy young woman.

MISTAKE #8: Giving Away All Of Your Power To Women

Earlier I mentioned that it's a mistake to look to a woman for approval or permission.
Well, another similar tactic that a lot of guys use is GIVING AWAY THEIR POWER to women.
Said differently, guys try to get women to like them by doing whatever the woman wants.
Another bad idea...
Women are NEVER attracted to men that they can walk all over... Women aren't attracted to Wussies!

MISTAKE #9: Not Knowing EXACTLY What To Do In Each Type Of Situation With Women

Now I'm going to blow your mind...
A woman ALWAYS knows what you're thinking.
Women are approximately TEN TIMES better than men at reading body language. That's ten TIMES.
I know, it might be hard to believe. But for example, if you're out on a date with a woman, and you want to kiss her, she knows it.
And if you don't know exactly what to do and exactly HOW to kiss her, and you just sit there looking at her and getting nervous, she won't help!
And this goes for ALL aspects of women and dating...
Approaching a woman, getting her number, asking her out, kissing her, getting physical... everything.
If you don't know what to do in each situation, you will probably screw it up... and LOSE EVERYTHING.
And you KNOW it.
It is VITALLY important that you know EXACTLY how to go from one step to the next with a woman... from the first meeting, all the way to the bedroom.

MISTAKE #10: Not Getting HELP

This is the biggest mistake of all.
This is the mistake that keeps most men from EVER having the kind of success with women that they truly want.
I know, guys don't like to make themselves look weak or helpless. We don't like to ask for help.
Hey, I've been there myself.
Let me tell you a little about me and how I figured out how to be successful with women...
About five years ago I became fed up with the fact that I didn't know how to approach, meet, and get dates with women that I was attracted to.
It frustrated the hell out of me.
One night I was out with a friend, and I saw a woman I wanted to ask out, but I just couldn't get up the nerve to do it. I can still remember that night... right on the spot I made the decision to do whatever it took to learn how to be successful with women and dating.
Well, after a lot of hard work and trying all kinds of crazy things, I finally figured it all out.
I can now approach just about any woman and get her number almost instantly. I've dated models, I've dated actresses, and I've dated nice, normal, regular girls as well.
It has been a very rewarding experience. I no longer feel that sick, insecure feeling... like I don't know how to meet women... and I might wind up alone.
I know that anytime, anywhere, I can go out and meet attractive women.

The Difference Between Love and Like...

In front of the person you love your heart beats faster
But in front of the person you like you get happy.

In front of the person you love winter seems like spring
But in front of the person you like winter is just beautiful winter.

If you look into the eyes of the one you love you blush
But if you look into the eyes of the one you like you smile.

In front of the person you love you can't say everything on your mind
But in front of the person you like you can.

In front of the person you love you tend to get shy
But in front of the person you like you can show your own self.

You can't look straight into the eyes of the one you love
But you can always smile into the eyes of the one you like.

When the one you love is crying you cry with them
But when the one you like is crying you end up comforting.

The feeling of love starts from the eye
But the feeling of like starts from the ear.

So if you stop liking a person you used to like,.all you need to do is
cover your ears.
But if you try to close your eyes, love turns into a drop of tear andremains in your heart forever after.

B U R D W A N

Bardhaman (also Barddhaman; Bengali: Bôrdhoman), is a city of West Bengal state in eastern India.

It is the headquarters of Bardhaman District.
Bardhaman has been a district capital since the time of Mughals. Later on it became a district headquarters of British India. Burdwan is an alternative name for the city, which remains in use from the British period.

Geography

Barddhaman is located at 23.25° N 87.85° EIt has an average elevation of 40 metres (131 feet). The city is situated a little less than 100 km north-west of Kolkata on the Grand Trunk Road (NH-2) and Eastern Railway. The chief rivers are the Damodar and Banka nala.

History

Burdwan
During period of Jahangir this place was named Badh-e-dewan (district headquarters). The town owes its historical importance to being the headquarters of the Maharajas of Burdwan, the premier noblemen of lower Bengal, whose rent-roll was upwards of 300,000. Bardhaman Raj was founded in 1657 by Sangam Rai, of the Kapoor Khatri family of Kotli in Lahore, Punjab, whose descendants served in turn the Mughal Emperors and the British government. The great prosperity of the raj was due to the excellent management of Maharaja Mahtab Chand (d. 1879), whose loyalty to the government especially during the “Hul” (Santhal rebellion) of 1855-56 and the Indian rebellion of 1857 was rewarded with the grant of a coat of arms in 1868 and the right to a personal salute of 13 guns in 1877. Maharaja Bijai Chand Mahtab (b. 1881), who succeeded his adoptive father in 1888, earned great distinction by the courage with which he risked his life to save that of Sir Andrew Fraser, the lieutenant-governor of Bengal, on the occasion of the attempt to assassinate him made by Bengali malcontents on 7 November 1908.

Mahtab Chand Bahadur and later Bijoy Chand Mahtab struggled their best to make this region culturally, economically and ecologically healthier. The chief educational institution was the Burdwan Raj college, which was entirely supported out of the maharaja's estate. Sadhak Kamalakanta as composer of devotional songs and Kashiram Das as a poet and translator of the great Mahabharata were possibly the best products of such an endeavour. The society at large also continued to gain the fruits. We find, among others, the great rebellious poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and Kala-azar-famed U. N. Brahmachari as the relatively recent illustrious sons of this soil. The town became an important center of North-Indian classical music as well.

Places of interest

The famous Shrine of Sarvamangala, said to contain the remnant of Sati's body, the umbilicus, is situated here. Aside this, there are quite a number of temples and Sivalingams.
The Curzon Gate built in honour of the visit of Lord Curzon.
The palaces and gardens of the maharaja Golapbag.
Burdwan is a town of tanks. Several tanks are scattered here and there across the town. These caught the attention of Victor Jacquemont, a young French natural scientist, who visited this town in November 1829.
At Nawab Hat, some 2 mile distant, is a group of 108 Siva lingam temples built in 1788.
One must also know about a small village of burdhaman called "Panchkula" where Gajan-Festival is celebrated with huge passion during the month of May-June. For more Information log to Panchkula
Shrine and Pir Bahram and Sher Afghan.
Barddhaman also have a planetarium named after India's emminent scietist Meghnad Saha. It is the second planetarium of the state after Kolkata's "Birla planetarium".

Education

University
Burdwan University started on 15 June 1960, with Sukumar Sen, an ICS, as its first Vice-chancellor. It was after the abolition of the Zamindari system in the fifties that Uday Chand Mahtab, the last representative of the Burdwan Raj, showed his magnanimity in leaving almost his entire property of Burdwan at the disposal of the state government. This, coupled with the initiative of the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, facilitated the establishment of this university. Presently, the administrative works are mostly done at Rajbati (the palace of Barddhamana Maharaja) campus; on the other hand, academic activities center around the Golapbag campus mainly. With social responsibilities in mind, the university actively patronised the construction of a Science Centre and a Planetarium, named as Meghnad Saha Planetarium.

FORD GT

Why GT?Ford Motor Company chose the name GT to evoke memories of Ford's miraculous 1-2-3 victory in the 1966, 24 hours of Le Mans. Limited production of the Ford GT started in the summer of 2004 as a 2005 model. 2006 models are now being produced. The Ford that won at Le Mans was named the GT-40, but that name is now owned by a private individual.Only 4200 GTs were be produced total in the 2005-2006 model run and most dealerships will not get a GT. NO GTs will be produced in 2007. The final Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $155,000 - $169,000 depending on options.. With only a few hundred GTs, and many enthusiasts, Ford employees and Ford dealers hoping to get a GT, market conditions and customer demands are predicted to result in substantially higher selling prices, particularly for cars built in the first part of the model year. Dealers offering their GT for sale to the public will likely take bids to determine who will get to purchase "the One."It's the oneThe Ford GT's first television commercial, entitled "The One," positions the 205 mph, 550 horsepower supercar as the "pace car for an entire company." For "The One", Ford created a commercial that puts the GT in the only element where drivers can responsibly and legally explore the upper limits of the car's awesome abilities: a racetrack. As a professional driver navigates the hilly and winding, three-mile, 15-turn road racing course at Thunderhill Park in Willow, California, a voice asks the viewer three questions -- timed to the driver's gear changes:"In what gear do you...realize that a car is everything it is supposed to be?""In what gear do you know nothing can catch you?""In what gear, do you know it is the one?"The ad ends with the line "Introducing the Ford GT. This is the one. The pace car for an entire company.""The Ford GT was built by people who love great cars, and Ford Motor Company is full of people who share the same passion but work on our high volume cars, SUVs and trucks," said Rich Stoddart, Ford Division marketing communications manager. "That's why it's the company's pace car, and that's the spirit we think we have captured in 'The One.'"Filming for the commercial took place entirely on location at Thunderhill Park in January. Jeff Zwart, the director of "The One," said this was the first time that a helicopter could not keep up with a car during filming. He also said that unlike other sports car commercials, the film was not sped up to make the car look better."Our test driver topped speeds of 140 mph and never shifted higher than fourth gear," Stoddart said. "There was absolutely no need to use editing tricks to make the GT appear faster on film."As Stoddart alludes to, the GT's performance is incredible. For its January 2004 cover story,"Judgment Day!" a Car and Driver magazine test driver drove a Ford GT from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Car and Driver also recorded a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds at 128 mph. In the same test, Ferrari's $193,000 Challenge Stradale took four seconds to reach 60 mph and was 0.8 second and 13 mph slower through the quarter-mile."It wasn't even a contest," wrote Car and Driver's Larry Webster. "The Ford GT so completely dusted off its two highly recognized competitors (the Ferrari Stradale and Porsche 911 GT3) that if we wanted to make this a real challenge, we would have had to go way up the 'supercar' price ladder . . . The Ferrari and Porsche both require an upshift before 60 mph, but the Ford does not, which accounts for some of the huge sprint-time advantage."

Remove orkut Virus

Removing orkut Virus HA HA HA
BANGALORE: The browser war between Internet Explorer (IE) and Mozilla has taken a new turn with a new Virus pitching in to help IE.

The W32.USBWorm known popularly as the 'I Hate Mozilla Virus' prevents users from opening Mozilla and also prevents them from accessing sites like Orkut and Youtube.Everytime the user opens Mozilla, the Virus pops up with a message, "Use IE, You Dope. I don't hate Mozilla but use IE or else...." and closes the browser window. When the user tries to get into Orkut or Youtube again the villainous pop-up splash the message, ‘Orkut is banned, Orkut is banned you fool."The administrators didn't write this program guess who did?" and it plays a sound, supposedly a devil's laugh.

The worm then closes the web page window. While this might seem funny, some of the users who are addicted to Mozilla and Orkut find it really frustrating. Some of them had to format their entire hard-disk while others used Windows XP's System Restore utility to terminate the virus.Unfortunately, none of the anti virus programmes including Nortan, McAfee and AVG has been able to detect the Virus. The worm spreads via thumbdrives, data cards and storage discs, using the computer's Autorun feature.

The best precaution is to avoid transferring data from internet centres using flash drives.

Simple Solution to remove the Virus- Open Task Manager by holding Ctrl + Alt + Del and click on the process tab.- Ignore the warning messages and stop the SVC.Host for the system's user name.- Navigate to C:/Heap41a and delete the contents of the folder. Smile.

Global Warming

Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent deWP:cades and its projected continuation.
Global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.3 ± 0.32 °F) during the past century. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes, "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations,"[1] which leads to warming of the surface and lower atmosphere by increasing the greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes have probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950, but a small cooling effect since 1950.[2][3] These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least 30 scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries. The American Association of Petroleum Geologists is the only scientific society that rejects these conclusions,[4][5] and a few individual scientists also disagree with parts of them.[6]
Climate models referenced by the IPCC project that global surface temperatures are likely to increase by 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) between 1990 and 2100.[1] The range of values reflects the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions and results of models with differences in climate sensitivity. Although most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a millennium even if greenhouse gas levels are stabilized.[1] This reflects the large heat capacity of the oceans.
An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause other changes, including sea level rise, and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation. There may also be changes in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, though it is difficult to connect specific events to global warming. Other effects may include changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, reduced summer streamflows, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.
Remaining scientific uncertainties include the exact degree of climate change expected in the future, and how changes will vary from region to region around the globe. There is ongoing political and public debate regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at combating greenhouse gas emissions.
